Obituary for David J Kimmerle

David J  Kimmerle
David J. Kimmerle passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011 at his home following a 5 year battle with cancer. He was 55.
The husband of Karen Kimmerle (nee Cattie), Dave was born in Abington to the late George W. and Clare (nee Homsher) Kimmerle. He is preceded in death by his brother, the late George W. Kimmerle Jr. and is survived by his sister Jane Kelly (nee Kimmerle) and will be greatly missed by many brothers and sisters in law, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dave was a lifetime resident of Southampton and a graduate of William Tennent High school. After working as a dispatcher for Bucks County Fire and Ambulance, he followed his father and brother to work for the Philadelphia Electric Company. In his 31 years at PECO, first as a lineman then as a Senior District Systems Dispatcher. Dave received numerous awards for excellence in customer service as well as loyalty and service to PECO. He was 3rd generation fireman and 2nd generation volunteer of the Southampton Fire Company. He gave 41 years of Service protecting the community along side his neighbors and friends.
Dave looked forward to family vacations in Ocean city, NJ and traveling with his wife and friends. He enjoyed his daily newspapers and talking with his neighbors and coworkers. Dave appreciated the wildlife in his backyard. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and spent time researching genealogy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings, 5PM-8PM Friday, January 6, 2012 and 11:30AM -12:30PM Saturday January 7, 2012 at James J. McGhee Funeral Home 609 Belmont Ave. Southampton PA 18966 followed by his Funeral Mass 1:30PM Saturday January 7, 2012 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Ave. Southampton PA 18966. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Southampton Fire Company Annual Fund, 925 Street Rd. Southampton PA 18966.
