My heart goes out to Dr.Finley's family as well as all who knew this great man!

As a young Technologist I was privileged to work with him and experience the kind, gentle and caring nature he had for those he worked with. He had a wealth of knowledge in the Radiology field. He was well versed in the technical aspects but also had an unlimited supply of trivia from the field that was both interesting and entertaining. I still relate stories he shared with my young Technologists as these tidbits are not only history but remembered because they are amusing to think about in the history of how our technology started and they are not things students hear about in todays world of Radiology.

Dr.Finley made our very small St. Mary Radiology department feel like his 'other family' 40 years ago. He could always rig up an IV pole or accessory item that we needed for the young department with a few random parts and pieces.

We were a young group of Technologists, fresh out of school and a little unsure of ourselves at times. He was always there for support and to bolster our confidence. He could actually do any of our jobs as well as us but was the 'Radiologist'. A doctor who did not intimidate or make us feel inadequate!

I have special memories of the times that he would share his home and family with his 'work family' by inviting the entire department to his home for a barbeque and swim night! Great,fun evenings!

My most special personal memories are when he 'took me under his wing' to mentor me in the advancing field of CT Scan. He and Mrs.Finley invited me into their home for many evenings over a period of months so he could tutor me in the Anatomy and Physics of CT and prepare for our first CT Scanner at the hospital. He spent many hours of personal time; after working long days at the hospital, to mentor me.

I did not have family who lived close and Dr. and Mrs.Finley (and Colleen) made me feel that it was not a burden to have another person interrupt their evenings; many times insisting I share a wonderful home cooked dinner with them as well! This left a lasting impression for me; it takes a special man and family to be so generous and giving of their time and there was never an evening that I did leave in an upbeat mood from their amazing sense of fun, good humor and entertaining family stories!

I could go on and on as my mind wanders back through all of those times and memories that seem to have happened much more recently than 20-40 years ago. I hope I have not gone on too long as it is. Dr.Finley will always hold a special place in my head and heart. I have shared his importance to me with my family over the years and I can't Thank You enough for sharing him with me!

I have always had fond childhood memories of the Finley household in Huntingdon Valley. My late father and Dr Finley had such a wonderful history together. Our love and condolences go out to the entire family at this difficult time. We will keep you in our prayers.

I am saddened by the passing of Dr. Finley. Over a span of many years as a CAT Scan Technologist at the St. Mary Medical Center, Dr. Finley and I shared many hours together. Both he and Mrs. Finley became accustomed to my numerous calls at all hours of the day and night. Mrs. Finley found my calls humorous. So...for one final time....IT'S SHOW TIME!
