Yerkes family, remembering you and your loved one today as the anniversary of Gove's death draws near. Psalms 145:16 says - “You are opening your hand, And satisfying the desire of every living thing”. One of the greatest desires we have is to see our dead loved ones again. Very soon, God will fulfill that promise through the resurrection hope. Be well.

Dear Ida. Kind of feels like the world tilted a bit...how does the world turn now? As kids, we were so fortunate to have you and Bud and the kids in our lives. As adults we could recognize the devil in those eyes and the love. When Jeryl called me I think I felt the ground shift and I remember thinking "how can this be?" Since then, I've had so many memories surface and they've all made me grin. You two were always there for us and for mom and Dad. Our families have faced some tough times together and we've celebrated some great stuff together. So know, we are still here. Please know you and your kids are in my prayers. Love you...gonna miss him.. Barb

I will always have the image of Bud's strong hands in my mind. Strongest, most sincere and honest handshake you ever received. A hammer was just an extension of his hand and a wooden tape measure that folded back and forth and stuck out of his back pocket. I believe that part of who I am came from Bud. He taught us that anything worth doing, must be done correctly. One word.....CHORES! Thank you for insisting as children we do chores, not only at our house, but at yours......and oh the weeding of the driveway.....you made us responsible adults....Job well done!

Every year we all knew that the driveway was going to need to be weeded and each year we always waited to be told to do it. It was always very hot and I remember Bud coming home and asking us what we had done all day. We would answer, we weeded the driveway and he always replied to us that there were still weeds out there. He always wanted us to do better and those little statements made us mad when we were younger but I have put that statement to work in my adult years - You can always do better, keep striving. Again, thanks for sharing Bud.

I just wanted to say Bud was my second father, and I thank him for that. Getting to know Bud in my adult years was great. Watching Bud and Albert work together on our front porch at our old house was awesome. He taught Albert some carpentry secrets that he continues to use to this day and that was 15 years ago. I also wanted to let you know how much fun it was to go with your family to the lake and go swimming when Ellen and I were growing up. Thank you for sharing Bud!!
